Working at St. Cloud ENT
Since the day I was hired I have always felt that I mattered to my department as well as to the Doctors and Administration. Every evaluation I have had has always been very positive and "thankful sounding" for what I do for my department as well as ENT as a whole. Just knowing people feel "grateful" for me as a person makes me want to come in every day and do my best for them.
Who knew that over 30 years ago when I took a position at St. Cloud Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic that I would still be very happily employed as an Audiologist here? And over that time, I have had offers to join other clinics and it has always been easy to say, "no thank you, I’m happy here". Why have I chosen to stay at this clinic for all these years? I think it starts with an atmosphere of caring for employees. The Physicians here have always taken a genuine interest in their employees. They get to know you and your family. In casual conversation they will ask you how your son or daughter are doing in school or how your golf game is going. If you need help with something, they are always caring, compassionate and understanding.
I love working at SCENT:
This was my first "real" job after training, and for 28 years it has been my "dream" job!
I love the opportunity to help people solve their ENT problems;
I love engaging with my partners and peers to pursue excellence in patient care;
I love collaborating with clinical staff seeing patients, documenting and coding their visits;
I love consulting with our speech pathologist on voice and swallowing patients;
I love discussing audiological findings with audiology colleagues;
I have been blessed to work at SCENT for 12 years. From the Physicians, to my co-workers and to the patients, I have learned a lot and continue to do so every day. Having the opportunity to work for Physicians that privately own the clinic makes me appreciate the little things like how we are able to make changes "on the fly" or the fact I can make a suggestion/opinion about something and know it will be heard. The Physicians care so much about their employees that they provide healthy snacks and a massage chair for staff in the lunch room and reward staff with bonuses based on the profitability of the clinic. I have never worked anywhere that has done this.
I have been at SCENT for almost 2 years. I remember thinking on my first day how I was so impressed with how friendly and welcoming everyone was, and that has not changed to this day. Not only do the Physicians truly care about the patients, but they truly care about all the employees and treat us so well. I am so proud to tell my family and friends how much I love my job and everyone I work with. I consider myself to be very lucky to be part of such a great team.
Being in the medical field is rewarding, ever-changing, and rigorous. I find that working at ENT allows me to continue to evolve and restructure the way I observe and absorb information as well as endlessly develop my people skills. The Front Desk serves as the face of the clinic and as such our work is essential to the everyday flow of the business. Everyone works together as a unit in order to provide the very best possible outcome for patients.
