I can’t believe I am celebrating 15 years of service at St. Cloud ENT. The best part of my job is the opportunity to constantly learn and grow in a department that inspires me. I encounter new challenges regularly, and working with talented and supportive colleagues helps me develop both professionally and personally. I get to see the positive outcome of our teamwork for our patients daily, which has made my job very fulfilling, and I look forward to what the future holds.

This month, our employee spotlight goes to Kari Krein (MS, CCC-SLP), a speech-language specialist at St. Cloud Ear, Nose & Throat!
Here’s what Kari had to say on her experience being a part of the team:
“I feel very fortunate to be part of the St. Cloud ENT family. Professionally, the environment feels like a much larger clinic yet, is small enough that it feels more like a family. You are not just a number here. You feel like you are a vital part of the team with significant opportunities for continued professional growth. The providers and staff are professional and caring and go out of their way every day to provide the high quality of care that patients of Central Minnesota deserve. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 3½ years here so far and look forward to many more.”

I have been fortunate to work at St Cloud ENT for the past four years, working alongside the Physicians as a Health Information Assistant Lead. Every day I get to learn something new, which I really enjoy. The environment here at SCENT is not only professional but full of diversity and fun. Coming to work each day is so welcoming and refreshing because it truly is like a little family where everyone knows each other, no matter what department you are in. We all have a common goal and purpose; helping our community stay healthy and happy.
The Physicians not only go above and beyond to provide exceptional care to our patients, but they also extend that care to every single employee. It’s rewarding to work for an organization that truly stands behind their Core Values and believes in professional growth. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me here at SCENT.

I will soon be celebrating 17 years at St Cloud Ear, Nose and Throat Clinc (SCENT). I work as a surgery scheduler Lead alongside 2 other surgery schedulers. Our Team schedules surgeries for all six of our providers, therefore every day is different, there is never a dull moment, and this makes it exciting. I have gained so much knowledge during my time here. This comes from working as a TEAM with all our staff and providers.

Our providers are such a a big part of our community, and it shows when they are interacting with patients. Many patients are on a first name basis with them.
SCENT not only provides great care for our patients, but it also provides an amazing work environment for employees. The providers make a real effort to get to know employees, asking how we are doing along with our families. I feel like what I do matters-it feels comfortable and like a second home.
I joined St. Cloud Ear, Nose and Throat 10 years ago. My physician partners are amazing physicians, and we all have a common goal to provide exceptional, high quality ENT care to patients here in Central Minnesota. I enjoy coming to work every day; meeting new patients and seeing patients I’ve grown to know over the years. I feel blessed that my patients trust in me to provide both medical and surgical care to them and their families.
– Amy Dearking, M.D.
Our employees work hard every day to take great care of our patients and they are a fantastic team! We hope that every patient who walks through our doors feels welcomed, listened to, and provided with excellent medical and surgical care for their ENT concerns.
I started here right out of graduate school and have been encouraged and supported to grow and develop constantly. I look forward to my next 15 years here.

Fifteen years ago, I was working in the mortgage industry but with the volatility of the housing market, I wanted a career change. At the suggestion of a neighbor, I applied for an open position at St. Cloud ENT, and, well, the rest is history! I have thoroughly enjoyed working at St. Cloud ENT and I don’t ever regret making a career change that led me to the caring, wonderful doctors and staff here at St. Cloud ENT! I know all of the members in our ENT family have made a huge impact on many, many lives… including mine!

I’m grateful for the many opportunities for growth in my 20 years with SCENT. I value the organization’s independence, which fosters an environment of idea-sharing. Although much has changed over 20 years, the clinic’s foundation of providing exceptional care to our patients and a caring, family-like environment for our employees has stood the test of time.
– Emily Jacobs
I feel so fortunate to work at St. Cloud ENT. My co-workers are people I enjoy being with. As an independent clinic we can make changes quickly, ensuring our patient care is driven by the most current research and technology.

There is a family atmosphere all around the building and I really enjoy the people I work with across the company. I am able to know most of the employees quite well as we are a smaller facility. I work with some awesome, talented, funny and dedicated staff. I feel I have a sense of belonging when I arrive to work each day. There is flexibility, and the leadership staff understands that we have other priorities throughout our day and are willing to help accommodate our life outside of the workplace. I love that I am encouraged to try new tasks and if it does not work out, I am supported in the effort I put forward. There is always something to laugh and/or smile about every single day. Every day is different, challenging, and exciting. No two days are ever the same!
– Olivia, LPN
I appreciate that we are a small and independent clinic. I enjoy the family-like atmosphere where everyone knows each other. The Physicians and management seek out input from employees and value their feedback. I find the otorhinolaryngology specialty fascinating, and I learn something new every single day!
– Jill Chaika, RN
I’ve been fortunate to work at SCENT for nearly three decades and during that time the clinic has become a second home and family to me. Although there have been many changes over the years, one thing has remained constant and that is the commitment of our providers and staff to provide exceptional care for our patients. It is a wonderful thing to be a part of something that affects so many people in such a positive way. It is a special place because of the close-knit staff and I value the long-lasting relationships I have built here. I have always been proud to be able to say I work at St. Cloud ENT Clinic.

St. Cloud ENT has a friendly and kind group of people working hard to make sure that patients feel good about the care that they receive. I am happy to work with thoughtful, patients, providers and staff. The atmosphere is open and welcoming as well as professional and deeply committed to high quality care. I feel that I am always learning and the process of development within the clinic is rewarding. And I feel as though I am giving back in a worthy way.
